Marshfield, Wis. & The Surrounding Area

In past years, the downtown
Marshfield business community sponsored an annual "Mad Market Days"
promotion in the month of July. One of the band's summer season
concerts would typically fall on the same week as the promotion.
For that
concert, band members were allowed to forego their usual, more formal
band attire
and, instead, were encouraged to be creative and to come in a costume,
or
to simply dress up in something silly, unusual or just plain
crazy! Here are a few examples:
"The Blues Brothers" made an
appearance at the Mad
Market
Days concert in the Summer of 1997. From l-r: Mike
Schoenfuss
and Dave Wagner, both trumpet players. Note that Mike has
his
trumpet case handcuffed to his wrist, in the style of Elwood Blues.
"The
Coneheads" made an appearance at the Mad Market Days concert
in the Summer of 1998. Trumpet section
members, from l-r: Jean Nitschke,
Carol Graewin, Mike Schoenfuss, Dave Wagner and
Martin Schultz.

Several cast members from "Gilligan's Island" made an appearance at the Mad Market Days
concert in the Summer of 2000. From l-r: Mike
Schoenfuss(trumpet) as "The Skipper";
Mike's nephew, Ryan, as "Gilligan"; Jean Nitschke(trumpet) as
"Mary Ann";
and Dave Wagner(baritone) as "Mrs. Howell".
